Red Breasted Nuthatch, Tongue Out

Dear Diary,

The Red Breasted Nuthatches seem most drawn to the suet feeder I've noticed.  I caught this one just at the moment his wee tongue is visible.  I never realized that they had such long tongues!  John was coming this afternoon to begin the spring clean-up but it is raining at the moment so we will see if that happens.  He can at least pull up the snow stakes and put away the shovels and such.  It will be a small start.
