Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Gone to pot!

Another surprisingly nice day today so I decided to get stuck into a job I've been putting off for a while. We seem to have an awful lot of small flies around the kitchen windowsill which is where most of my house plants live. I feel, without any proof, that they are coming from the compost. Today, therefore, I took all the plants into the garden and repotted them all. They are going to stay out tonight too to give any flies still around, the chance to make their bid for freedom.
I had to laugh at the number of tables, chairs, tubs, bags and buckets involved. If you're going to do a job do it well, as they say.
This afternoon, being Thursday, we had evening prayer, the last for a couple of weeks as it is Holy Week next week, the Maundy Thursday Eucharist will be happening instead. Easter already, how time flies. Two weeks to the wedding of the Pandemic! Ali told me today that the Registrar told them that they will be one of only 8 couples being married in Edinburgh on the 10th. I can't imagine what the figure normally is on the Saturday after Easter, into the hundreds I would think. I told her she'd be part of an exclusive club!
After dinner the last of the Lent group meetings. Its been nice to meet up with peeled but I'm not convinced that the format is right for me.
We watched an episode of the Unforgotten this evening. I do enjoy it.

Keep safe and well everybody, over half of the adult population of Scotland has now had their first dose of the vaccine. Lothian seems to be falling behind for some reason though, I'm not sure why.
