What on earth...?

Just mooning around in the garden...Did I blip the moon, rising serenely above the pines? Truth is that I thought this object was another fungal marvel springing from the rain...oh how amazing! I'll just touch it...And guess what it turned out to be : our neighbours' dog's ball! Needless to say it's been returned to its proper, woofly home.
