Pebble

Adrift in my thoughts
I could too easily have missed
A tear for the lost
 
And had I not walked slowly
and looked closely
I would have failed to consider
A tear for the lonely
 
But someone (a child?)
has taken the trouble
to decorate this pebble
and caused me to be grateful
 
for a 12 month period
that’s been ok for me
but too much to bear
for some
 
so I donate my own
watery contribution
now, here:
