The gloves are off

Up early for my yearly fasting blood test this morning conducted, not by the usual nurse, but a young trainee doctor from St Andrew's University. She's on a fast track medical course. Four years instead of five. Not that much faster really considering she already has a degree, but I suppose learning how to deal with gumpy old men is a skill that needs to be learned at some point in your life. Later the Scotland football team took on the mighty Austria and managed to salvage a draw from their opening World Cup qualifier. Could have been worse.
