Book review - A Promised Land (Barack Obama)

This was the first of my birthday booms that I started, and I'm sure glad I made it the first. It was such an interesting read - not only did I learn a lot about American politics, the book gives an incredible insight into the people behind the decisions. It's especially relevant to all the foreign policy studies I'm doing at uni - a massive element of foreign policy decision-making is the personality and psychological profile of state leaders, which this book takes a really deep dive into.

It's a very heavy read with a lot of technical info (especially the sections on economics which required a lot of concentration to make sense of) but it's incredibly rewarding, doing such a fabulous job of painting a picture of a fascinating person. Can't wait for part 2!
