I love this sculpture by Perth (Western Australia) artist James Angus. It’s outside the entrance to the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra. The NPG is a relatively recent addition to the cultural institutions in Canberra (this building opened 2008) and has a good small permanent collection, interesting temporary exhibitions, an excellent book shop, and my favourite cafe. Came here after visiting the National Gallery which is right next to it, but hasn’t re-opened its cafe post Covid-19 shutdown last year.
