Balfron says "Thanks"

An early blip (for me anyway), having bagged it this morning when I walked up to the newsagent for my paper. I presume the Community Council is responsible for putting up the sign which I'm sure we all endorse.

Unfortunately, despite a sterling effort, the CC hasn't been successful in persuading the Bank of Scotland - the only bank in the village - not to close permanently and remove its ATM, so there are some very disgruntled residents this week. 

Nearby villages, Drymen and Killearn, have also lost their banks in recent years, so the Balfron branch has been a valuable asset. A sign of the times, I suppose, with so many people using online banking, but a loss nevertheless.
