Pencil out

Time for some portrait drawing. It's been over 18 months since I last had a go at a portrait.  I have spent much of this year painting and not using a pencil at all.  This was a quick(ish) tonal study just to get the feel as this is the subject for a zoom tutorial on watercolour portraits. It is not perfect but I learned a lot about the face just by doing this.  (the glaring error is that the eyes are too close together but that is easily changed)
It has been a chilly day with strong gusty wind again.. I just hope the promised warm up of temperature happens next week.
