Religous Incident in Ullapool....
......the long serving washing machine in the Drumbeg house finally gave up the ghost in a spectacularly noisy and smelly display today. As I was down in Ullapool with Owen at the time, the instructions came through from Mrs Scobes to get ourselves to the Hydro shop to purchase a replacement.
The purchase made, I realised that shifting a washing machine by yourself without a trolley is not easy. I was however blessed to find the local free church minister trotting past the shop. Cheekily I asked him for a hand and he couldn't really refuse now could he?
The job done, I thanked him and was about to leave when Owen piped up that he recognised the good samaritan. "Really son, I have I met you at Ullapool Primary?", asked the minister. "No father", replied Owen, "I got to St Mary's Roman Catholic Primary in Edinburgh"........
.....I suspect the minister will have to ritually beat himself for helping the other side this evening.
