Spring has Truly Sprung.....
Walking with Elvis this morning the tranquil woods were a delight. Birds were singing, the wild flowers are thrusting skywards. The wild lilies, the aconites, snow-in-summer and woodland anemones are looking wonderful. I was trying to catch the ‘custard and cream’ butterfly who was being very elusive and bullied by the tortoiseshells. It was lovely.
Then it changed.
Elvis heard something, then they appeared. Two moto-cross kids on bikes. They had to slow down (slightly) to get past us and zoom off making an absolute racket. They scared all the birds away. No chance now of seeing the deer, or the more nervous hares and rabbits.
Sundays - in rural France.
On a ‘news’ update, The virus has arrived in our village. Its the main gossip. We had none, until the President decided to enforce a Paris lockdown. Trouble is, he warned them all and gave them time to run for the hills (or in our case, get to their second/holiday homes in the Charente-Maritime). Our small village square has suddenly been filled with cars registered outside the department. I wonder where the virus came from??.............
Glad I’ve had my first jab.
Onwards and upwards.
