Water Rail (again)

Water Rail - Rallus aquaticus

I thought I'd give the rail one more chance to show itself today and I wasn't disappointed. Unlike my fruitless one and a half hour vigil yesterday, I was rewarded after 10 minutes in the hide today with a short visit, during which I took 21 shots. The light was a little better and I was no longer shaking with excitement (as I was on Sunday). Still fairly distant, nothing I can do about that other than crop it.

This was the best of today's bunch. At least it shows all the bird's features.
