SPRING FORWARD

The great Spring clock change which used to give me a kind of jet-lag for about a fortnight for some reason, but now that I'm retired and the whole of the last year has been so disrupted anyway, probably won't have any effect at all.

My late and largely unlamented mother-in-law gave me this watch about 30 years ago during the 10 years that she lived with us. Every time she felt hard-done-by or misunderstood or that we were conspiring to put her "in the workhouse" she'd ask me what the time was so that I'd have to be reminded of her generosity and renounce my dastardly plotting. This happened at least once a day. Dear old Olive *said in ironic tones*.
