High River

This is just becoming the norm now. Loads of rain, and high river levels. It's not helped by the thousands of houses which are being built on fields which helped to absorb all the water and which is diverted now into the local river through drains which the developers don't bother to maintain.

Rampant commercialism - makes me really angry. I am not optimistic about the future. It's all very well trying to worry about the planet, but when money rules and profit and growth are the driving factors for everything, then I think we're just screwed. Absolutely screwed. If we could remove just one "sin", then greed would be the one to go. Then we might have a fighting chance.

And the scary thing is that it's all happening within one generation!
