On Golden Pond
I hadn't planned to visit Fishers Green today but got a message from a birding friend to say that he had heard that a pair of Bearded Tits had been seen there this morning.
Something different to tog I thought, so headed over around 4.30. I'm a bit ambivalent about hides. I shot a Water Rail from one and then went to see my lovely goose on the pontoon.
While I was rolling around a young family arrived. They knew nothing about wildlife and I enjoyed chatting with them and telling some of what I know. The man was fascinated when he saw a bird swimming under the water. We all watched as the male Tufted Duck popped to the surface and swam into the setting sun. :)
