Ancient Roman Telephone Control Box

This must have been a dreadful colour when new and shiny but, to my eyes, has gained a quiet dignity in it's entropic stage - the antique dealers would call it 'stressed', I believe.

The Roman remains the street was named for turned out to be Saxon but the name remained.

Cars and street furniture (often connected to traffic) seemed to become a theme in my camera stroll today! The town is more and more choked with traffic and the streets often do resemble an extended car park. Can't moan though, after all, we have one!
