Face Off - 5 for Silver

Magpies have been all over the place recently. Yesterday I saw six all together on the playing field. Today I went out to chase them early on but later the Blackbird was holding them at bay. She is lower right in the larger photo with a Magpie top left.
5 in all in the trees around our garden and on top of the roof over the back of us.
I checked the Blackbird nest but the beaks were just poking over the top, I think they'd been told to lie low.
I actually saw the female Blackbird go for one Magpie that got a bit too close, luckily the Magpie flew and settled further away.
1 for sorrow
2 for joy
3 for a girl and
4 for a boy
5 for silver
6 for gold
7 for a secret never to be told.
