Magnolia stellata
Today's the day ........................... for little stars
I know I probably show this every year but it somehow marks a boundary when the Magnolia flowers decide to open - a bit like when the clocks go forward.
We were lucky enough to inherit two Magnolia stellata bushes - sometimes called the star magnolia - in the garden here. I imagine they must be quite old too because they are a slow-growing variety and they have many flowers. Magnolias are native to Japan and have large, showy white flowers before the leaves open.
These two like to be centre-stage, in the spotlight .............................
