The Obelisk at Ickworth

This obelisk is "sacred to the memory of Frederick, Earl of Bristol, Bishop of Derry...The Roman Catholic Bishop and the Dissenting Minister resident at Derry were among those that contributed to this monument"

Today, in lovely Spring sunshine we walked into Ickworth Park via the rear entrance (which is not really a proper entrance nowadays - see extra photo), having left the car in Chevington. The second extra photo shows the lake, the old walled garden, the church and the Rotunda of the main house
