A RAW .....

..... ram.

This afternoon the P's called around to mine for a cuppa and a catch up. It's been a month since I last saw them as they've been over seas and I've been down south last week and working every day since I got back to Yorkshire. After the cuppa Mrs P took mini Pea along to the mother and baby group and Mr P went to the pub with me to grab a late lunch. Once I'd finished eating we had a wander through town where I bought a treacle tart from Betty's tea room ( after being made to feel guilty for not buying anything the other day ) and then we had a potter around the local sale room before heading back to mine for another cuppa and half the treacle tart each.

Mr P was discussing photography with me and talking about RAW files which I've yet to use since buying the DSLR a few months ago, so as a challenge I dug out the disk that came with the camera and finally loaded the software on to my laptop and switched the shooting option on the camera to RAW.

It's been a lovely bright day today but the mist hasn't fully lifted, creating a beautiful soft light. The sun was just begining to set as I headed out with my camera and I took a couple of photos of a giant gangly Great Dane called Ziggy who I saw running around over the park. I carried on my wander and headed up to Middleton to try and catch the sunset. The sun however had other plans and decided to hide behind some cloud instead. Before it did I took this photo of a Ram in a field with his harem of ewes. He must have heard of my reputation of 'admiring' sheep as he came over and stamped his hooves at me.

This evening I've been out for a steady 45 minute run with Ali and am now about to settle down to my tea of duck in orange sauce with roast spuds and veg. I've only had 20 minutes to try and learn how to use the new software so this photo is probably over tweeked, but it's a start in my long journey to learn a bit more about shooting in RAW. So today's blip is .....

..... A RAW ram.
