Fig in waiting

We were gifted a number of fig cuttings and have stuck them all in a big tub of soil. As of now we have three that seem to be doing reasonably well. We're hoping they are actually rooting below.
The thought of fresh figs is luscious. These will produce on new wood as I've already had to pop some tiny figs off so they will put energy into roots not figs at the moment. The big trick will be to see if we can grow them in Maine and have them survive the winters....
