One of the sculptures (I've posted another of the same sculpture as an extra) at Carron Dams Local Nature Reserve. The dams were originally water sources for some of the iron foundries in the area, but the wasteland has recently been reclaimed and turned into a nature reserve.
The spiral stem of the sculpture contains a poem:
"Furious flames ignite the dark sky, power reflecting on my clear wings,
Iron melts with intense heat, flowing like honey."
When I visited the reserve on Tuesday, there was a considerable amount of work going on to make what was previously quite a muddy path accessible; much laying down and compacting of gravel and stone.
One of the 'sides' of the walkway around the reserve is very muddy indeed and parts are covered by stretches of boardwalk. I suspect there are good environmental reasons for leaving this alone and having the accessible path follow another route. We'll wait and see.
