Up on the Stiperstones
Another stunning day for a walk. We drove to the Stiperstones and took Harry for a potter. Carolyn showed me where to pick whinberries when they come out in the Summer. She told me a story of how, in the 1950s the local ladies would go out and pick these tiny berries to sell in the village shops. They regularly picked half a hundredweight!!! What’s that in kilos?!?
