Ash glaze experiment 1

I mixed some sieved ash from our wood fire with some quartz and some feldspar. Sieving the ash is a pain. I added very small quantities of borax and kaolin. Well, I could say it worked first time, although as a glaze it is a little boring but it is satin/transparent, which is good. Now to try something with iron. The test object lost its base in its biscuit firing.
