Hunter gatherer ...

Wondered what on earth this little siskin was doing then I realised that as the birds feed, they drop bits of seed to the floor. Some of it falls through the gaps of the feeder base and this little fella was making the most of the meal.

Great opportunity to get to within a foot of him to photograph the beautiful markings and colours on his feathers before he flew off.

In other news, it was flipping freezing today. No gardening done, but the monthly shop was, including extra logs for the burner, some treats for easter and a trip out for cat litter as our local supplier had run out. That's it, we're ready for Easter and all of the weather.
