Walk along the Caledonian Canal Towpath
It was a beautiful day for a walk, so I took advantage of doing another taxi lift into town for a daughter and packed the dog in the car too, so we could have another change of scenery.
This is one of the photos I took as we walked south, towards Dochgarroch and away from Inverness. The trees on the wooded hills on the far bank are so beautiful, and the sound of the birds and the general sense of peacefulness (even with other walkers and cyclists) and springtime was sublime!
I'd been there a couple of years ago in Spring and was keen to go back and experience it again. This time we went a bit further, but sadly not all the way to the Locks at Dochgarroch where you can cross over and loop back. One day though hopefully.
Thought I'd throw in two extras for now, to show another view of the canal's far bank as I walked back, and the River Ness, (which is on the left hand side of the towpath as you walk south) with some hills of the Great Glen just visible in the distance.
