Agave americana

This flower has been looking magnificent for a week or two now, and I've been meaning to photograph it. I thought that later in the day would be best, when the yellow flowers are well lit. However, the silhouette against an interesting sky looked good this morning. I would have liked to frame it better, but there were other distractions that I did manage to avoid, and the light was changing rapidly. This succulent plant is in a small reserve along the road from us.
