Free Spirit

We went back to the National Memorial Arboretum in search of the Free Spirit memorial.

It is a tribute to the unique contribution made by horses throughout history in times of war.  I loved the drama of the sculpture itself.

I was also very impressed by the way they have extended the area to be visited, as far as the point where the rivers meet and you can look across to the second bird hide in the Croxall  Lakes reserve.

We met a number of “lockdown puppies” as their owners described them. They were having a super time meeting people and other dogs. What an excellent idea.
