he died...
...on a cross
for me - and for you
alone and forsaken - for the sins of a lost world - it wasn’t for nothing - it was to bring HOPE - to a grieving people - FORGIVENESS to burdensome pain - and HEALING to wounded souls
2 in god’s eyes he was like a tender green shoot, sprouting from a root in dry and sterile ground. but in our eyes there was no attractiveness at all, nothing to make us want him. 3 we despised him and rejected him—a man of sorrows, acquainted with bitterest grief. we turned our backs on him and looked the other way when he went by. he was despised, and we didn’t care.
4 yet it was our grief he bore, our sorrows that weighed him down. and we thought his troubles were a punishment from god, for his own sins! 5 but he was wounded and bruised for our sins. he was beaten that we might have peace; he was lashed—and we were healed! 6 we—every one of us—have strayed away like sheep! we, who left god’s paths to follow our own. yet god laid on him the guilt and sins of every one of us! isaiah 53:2-6 (tlb)
the weight of sin - is heavy and for a moment - hanging there, even abba - had to turn away from his son - think about the enormity of that - the totality of the weight - of the sin of the world - resting on the shoulders - of one man, jesus - who willingly hung there - carrying them, then breathing - his last breath, he died - to bring hope into the hopeless - provide healing for all nations - yet most importantly to - give forgiveness to a fallen world - badly in need of redemption - and saving grace
do you feel that heavy - weight of sin pulling - at you, dragging you down - into a pit of despair - does it naw at you relentlessly - leaving you feeling empty - discouraged, without purpose - jesus didn’t hang on that cross for nothing - he hung there for me - and for you
to forgive our sins - to heal our hurts - to give us a fresh start - to bring us hope anew - to redeem us from an empty life - and give us meaning again - hope is alive - it began with a cross - so we could experience...
a
happy day.....
