A Good Friday

We had a few things for the garden and house that we had to pick up from stores in Yeovil this morning so we combined the trip with a walk in Ninesprings Country Park at the bottom of the town.

As you can see, it was a bright, fresh Spring morning and there were lots of families enjoying the fresh air and, judging from snatches of conversation overheard, several meeting up for the first time since the latest lockdown. We finished our walk with a coffee from the park cafe. It’s a real treat to be able to do things like this again and there was a refreshing and reassuring sense that people generally were really appreciating these simple pleasures.

On a sombre note, some of you may have seen that the Yeovil football team’s Club Captain passed away on Wednesday night at the age of just 32. He was a very popular figure at the club; the circumstances of his death are not in the public domain but it’s very sad that someone should pass away so young. Today’s game at Altrincham was postponed as a mark of respect.

When we got back I put up some photos I’ve had enlarged and framed, one from our trip to St Lucia 16 months ago and one of Milford Sound from our ew Zealand & Australia trip in 2012, in the dining room. It’s taken me a while to get round to it but I’m pleased with them.
