Bit of a lifetime tick really!

I went to Wesmeston church today as having visited last autumn I was anxious to see the churchyard in the spring. I wasn't disappointed, one whole corner was just a mass of beautiful primroses, which really are having the best of years. (See Extra)
In amongst the primroses were several Bee flies and I simply couldn't believe my luck when i realised they were a mixture of the common Dark-edged bee fly (Bombylius major) and the much less common Dotted bee fly (Bombylius discolor).
I have wanted to see (and photograph) a Dotted bee fly for years and years now so I was ecstatic!!
Sadly I couldn't get one to sit on a nice clean background, but believe me I will be back!
