I was surprised to see several holes as we walked past about 200 metres of daffodils growing on an embankment beside a road. At first I thought that the rabbits, or something else, had been very busy before realising that bulbs had deliberately been dug up and probably are now in a garden elsewhere. There were holes too near a house where the verge had also been planted with various spring flowers. It must be upsetting for those who had obviously spent a lot of time and effort to make it an attractive location for those living nearby. Fortunately that was the only sign of vandalism on the five mile walk apart from seeing one discarded crisp bag and it is such a contrast to our local main road where we can fill a carrier bag with bottles, cans and other litter within a few minutes.
