Relish
My Dear Princess, Loulou and Fellows,
Today I was taken for a lovely lunch with Loulou and Joshua at a nice little family run cafe in Waikenae (about 10 minutes drive from Paraparaumu).
The bad weather temporarily broke and the cafe - Relish - is in a lovely old house surrounded by a cottage garden.
Tiger was not there. He is down in the South Island, staying with family for a few days. According to Loulou, they are just lovely but a bit much. "If I spend more than two days with them, I turn into a desiccated husk," was how she put it.
I'm an introvert. I understand the draining energy of lots of people.
But with us, she seemed happy. In full Loulou, if you will. She told us about her cottage, which is awaiting approval for major changes. She just needs the approval of the council. The "Code of Compliance" form needs to be signed off.
"We were really lucky, because we had a builder look at our COC," said Loulou. But she couldn't hold in the giggle.
"He took one look at our COC and took a few things off, as they were unnecessary."
"So now it's just a small COC?" I asked.
"Previously my COC was too big," admitted Loulou. "Now it's smaller. Both in terms of length. And girth."
"It's a handier COC," suggested Joshua.
"Ribbed," replied Loulou.
That is the level of conversation we were on today. Sparkling.
But it was over too soon. Loulou had another engagement and Joshua had a train to catch. I came home and slept off my big lunch. Jasper was very happy about this.
