At Home
I returned to Johnston Gardens today with a different lens for a photograph of the moorhen on her nest. She was here in the same place last year, and I seem to remember seeing two chicks at least. Since she is back in the same place she must have thought this would be a good home to use again.
The nest suffered a certain amount of degradation last year as the seagulls were taking some of it after she had finished. It may not have needed too much repair work as there was certainly the base structure still there over the winter.
To me it looks a rather damp home, but she seems happy enough. I wonder if she has a mate who helps out over the weeks of being tied to the nest.
