Job done, with thanks to Nick and Owen.

We celebrate with a birthday dinner for Owen. Venison fillet steak with roast root veg, steamed red kale, and the first purple sprouting broccoli of the spring.

Then we repair to the yew glade for a reticent fire. It does burn eventually, but needs constant encouragement. Eventually, even the beer isn’t enough to keep us outside.
