One sign of spring here in the Saimaa watershed is when the ice begins to push itself to the lake shores. Sarviniemi at Suur-Saimaa area is one of those places, where this gorgeous natural phenomena can be seen the most best way. In the extra section, three more photos both outside and inside of ice formations.

I went there on the morning when I was expecting no other people. Before noon, the situation was completely different when the locals came to wonder at the same and enjoy theirs day off by the campfire.
