Bermuda
Alongside (and chilly) in the Royal Naval Dockyard, Bermuda.
The 'America's Cup' Atlantic tour continues. Bermuda hosting it in 2017, Newport from 1958(?) to 1983 and the whole affair having kicked off with a race around the Isle of Wight in 1851. They just need to hold one in Blyth and I'll have a full house...
Bermuda still maintains a link to the 2017 event through being the training base for SailGP, which utilises the boats from that event (somewhat modified and equalised). It turns out that we are parked up right next to the SailGP base, so in the extras is the Danish boat - with USA wing? - getting ready to head out for training.
Also in the extras a couple of other shots from our circuitous route into and around the lagoon. We arrived at dawn and had a brief visitation from a dolphin . Passing the reef channel and St David's Lighthouse, we had an escort of several beautiful white-tail tropicbirds before touring the whole north coast to the dockyard, with huge waves visible breaking on the reefs 6 miles to the north.
