Virginia black squirrels

The hospital has a healthy population of black squirrels, which I never see anywhere else. From what I’ve read they aren’t actually black squirrels, but color mutations that result from grey squirrels mating with fox squirrels, which carry a gene variant.  They also apparently carry a cuteness gene.
