I'm going home
Urrrrggghhh! After a sleepless night listening to all my alarms and monitors bleeping and donging, I gave up and asked one of the nurses to put the telly on at 5:30. In my little room, I wasn't disturbing anyone else.
The checks all started around 8:00 and I was really disappointed when I was told I probably wouldn't be going home today as my heart rate was 130 which is better than 221 but still not good. Less than ten minutes later my heart rate dropped suddenly to 74 and I felt instantly better!
The doctor came round a little later and had a bit of a chat with me and warned me that this could happen again but also might not. I didn't do anything to bring it on. It could have just as easily happened while I was sat watching TV. She has faxed a letter off to my GP recommending they monitor the situation. Apart from that, I have been told to carry on as usual. So, that's that for now. Panic over.
Poor mom. She has been worried sick. I'm just waiting to go home now. I inverted the colours on this to make it look more unusual.
I finally got home around 4pm sharing a hospital taxi with a chap who was moaning about how he'd been waiting to go home since 9:30am. He also showed me his colostomy bag telling me it needed emptying soon. I haven't much of an appetite yet but am relieved to be home.
