Three score years and ten

Today is occasional blipper Cameraman’s birthday and it is a significant one. We had planned a celebration weekend in Anstruther with our three children, their partners and the three grandchildren. That was cancelled/postponed months ago. It’s a homebased birthday for Cameraman, his second in lockdown. He has had a busy lockdown nurturing one third sector environmental  organisation which he started a couple of years ago and initiating another. Leaving the planet in a better state is a great goal.

The plan today is to go for a walk with friends who live within the Stirling Council area (4 people, 2 households) this morning, have a family zoom this afternoon and a birthday meal tonight with our daughter who is in our ‘bubble’. We awoke to a dusting of snow and more is forecast so I think meeting anyone in the garden is out of the question. Though I must say it is a beautifully sunny day.

A few weeks ago Cameraman had a new camera lens as his main gift. There are many other presents yet to be opened and lots of cards too. I was up betimes to make a cake and to put up a modest bit of birthday decoration. Cameraman doesn’t like a fuss but he deserves one today. I’ve known Cameraman since he was 24 which is a long time. Lucky me to be able to wish him a very happy birthday today.
