Hop Shoots

These guys made a very tasty starter fried in butter with some pine nuts and served with a winter salad from the allotment.

Been stringing the hops today. The Fuggle being most advanced with about 2 feet of growth and a proliferation of shoots. Once I’ve trained 2 or 3 of the strongest shoots onto the string the rest get pruned and fried up for dinner
