Wetlands Wildlife

After all the exhausting Easter celebrating this past weekend, it was very nice to take an evening walk around Gilbert Run with my sister. The bridge over the beaver dam is still out, so we walked up and back on each side of the trail, which amounted to a little over 4 much-needed miles after all the rich food we ate at the parties. Our bonus was that a young heron was posing at the end of the fallen tree where the turtles like to sunbathe as a duck swam by. 
It is such a great feeling to see the wildlife back for the season. Spring is here to stay!
