Playing life by ear.

Easter Monday

I was so glad to see the bees laden with pollen.

Lockdown lunch today, with one son F.
I was expecting to see Chinchulan (L) but he was somewhere else with his mates, having a BBQ but that left me free to have a lovely chat with the Titch. His guitar has a broken string, so I didn't even have to ask for a liitle concert.

I told him the story  of how his Dad, when 6yrs old  had stolen sweets from the Sheraton Hotel in Teheran, very astutely hiding them in the hood of his little brother’s duffle coat so as not to be caught and how on a different occasion, aforesaid little brother, aged three at the time, had stolen and brought home a huge padlock which would have been used to lock up a shop if he hadn’t taken it.
It was just after closing time when we found it. What do you do in an Islamic country where theft is taken extremely seriously?

Little R had a wonderful time with a tiny hoe, digging for gold nuggets in his garden, which involved chipping away at the garden wall.
I sat in the sunshine having a natter with his mum, until, ever so sweetly, he took my hand, said “come with me nonna” and suggested I sit on a bench in the shade instead.
Then I discovered that he wasn’t being kind, but  just needed the chair I had been sitting on. I suppose it was good that he had tried to fix a future problem before actually creating it.
The men had a long snooze, having eaten too much.

Please stay safe everyone.
