Hail, Hail
Another very cold day today, with the weather alternating between brilliant sunshine and hail or snow showers. Two minutes after taking this photo of the lawn covered in hail, it was totally clear again and we were basking in bright sunshine. Ten minutes after that and there was a dark grey sky and snow swirling around. No wonder weather forecasting in England is such a hit and miss affair!
I did some weights in the morning but have absolutely zero interest in stepping outside for exercise. This is one of those days for leaving the heating on and just reading, listening to the radio or watching Harry Potter films on the telly.
The big bonus was finding two “ready to bake” chocolate chip cookies at the back of the freezer. They are just cooling down now and will shortly be consumed with a cup of tea.
We’ve told the man what we want in the way of decking and he’s promised to get back to us with a quote in the next day or so. I emphasised that we want the minimum of work involved so will settle for whatever he can make using full length planks so no cutting is required. We need to keep the cost down because we still can’t decide whether to move or stay. In that respect, we have booked a second viewing of the one house that is still in the running, for Friday lunchtime. This time we’re going armed with stepladders and tape measure for a more in depth look at what will or won’t fit and what works must be done before moving in and what can be left until funds allow.
It is quite possible that the viewing will only serve to persuade us to stay where we are, but at least it will be a decision. At the moment we seem to be changing our minds on an almost hourly basis as we find things on our current house that either delight or irritate us! And, invariably, if I say “go” Mrs C says “stay” and vice versa.
Hopefully we will be moving towards a consensus by the weekend...
