Queen Victoria's favourite flower

I thought they were going to be scarce this year but needn't have worried. The primroses carpet large areas of the grass. They are spreading.
There was an icy north wind today blowing in from the Arctic but it was beautifully bright. Yesterday began with a snow flurry.
