Exercise in Futility
Tried to get tickets for the Rugby World Cup in France 2023. I had tried previously with the pre-sales and “member” sale. Now, the tickets were on sale to the General Public. Nothing. It is harder than getting a Covid-19 jab in France.
I logged on, and was there as the site opened at precisely 1800 CET. It took 30 minutes to move along the queue, but at 10% en-route, I was unceremoniously dumped out and told that I had missed my place. Not only that, it told me that I had lost my place because of something I had done. Extra pic is of the rules they give you to avoid being dumped out. I had complied with them all, even going so far as to move the mouse around periodically to ensure that the screen did not “go to sleep”.
It put me back to the rear, but after 50 minutes, I got a call to say that all the tickets had been sold. I was sitting at 26% en-route, so another 3 hours in line as a minimum. I love the fact that they suggest they have created a queuing system to “improve user experience”.
Looks like I’ll be watching on the TV.
I wonder if the French used same booking system as the appointment system for jabs.........
