This way to Phyatunturi

The Mill Run today. This involves catching a bus about 20k up the road, to where the mill for the village used to be, and then skiing back. It's always really beautiful at the mill, and today was no exception.

We took the trail the long way around Akaskero fell. In 2010 we climbed this in the summer - but we just climbed up to the col and then slid gently down the trail on the other side on the ski track today.

This photo is taken about 10k into the trip. The track you can see here leads over the fell to a lake. The piste machine hadn't been over, so the tracks are just visible under yesterday's soft snow. It would be skiable, just about, but we didn't go that way, as we preferred a much shorter way home.
