Framing the Fort

Up is the Direction of The Blip

...not my snappiest title, but as "Up" really is my favoured direction for blipping, I've already used all of the obvious ones(/puns)... and Miss Geek is waiting to grab my phone. We're waiting for Amy MacDonald to take the stage at the Music Hall, and we had to get here early as seating was unreserved.

This is the rather grand ceiling of said hall, which was also the scene of Mrs Geek's recent graduation. Looking forward to seeing Amy; we saw her around the time of her 1st album & her songwriting was full of youthful exuberance but her voice was a little iffy (actually, it was worse than that, it was a kind of barking growl). Fast forward three years and Ms MacDonald's voice was a revelation, and her songwriting has gained a great deal more complexity both lyrically and musically. Tonight is 2 years later still, and I'm really keen to see where her dedication to her craft has taken her.

Miss and Mrs Geek just like her music! (They have little truck with my critical pretensions;-)

Ms MacDonald also came across as a rather sweetly-mannered person on her recent appearance on Graham Norton's TV show, coming down the row of guests shaking hands with an obviously sincere "lovely to meet you". Such things matter.
