Today's the day .......................... for a connection

We had an hour to spare in Shrewsbury before we caught a connecting train on our journey back home today.

Just enough time to have a look at Mr Darwin reading his paper outside what is now the Castle Gates Library. This impressive stone building, built between 1594 - 1630 was part of Shrewsbury School founded by Edward VI in 1552.

Charles Darwin was one of the school's better-known pupils .....................
