repurposing pigeon?

The pigeons still wait, and hope that they will get back in to the old building. The other day I counted over 20 on window ledges, chimney pots and along the roof ridge.

It occurred to me today that maybe I am misinterpreting their behaviour. Perhaps they have just repurposed their old home. It is now a gathering place, a perch with a view. I think I will stop thinking of them as disappointed. They could just as easily be fairly chuffed with the change of use.
